Access to Tianjin port
※Acording to changing timetable of train、I changed the contents on October 2008
- My experience (I didn’t have any information)
- Beijing → Tianjin ― Express bullet train 1hour 20minutes 42 RMB
- Tianjin → Tangguu ― No.621 Bus about 40minutes 15RMB (I had to wait about 1 hour until the bus became full of passenger.)
- I stayed 1 night in Tanggu.
- On the next day, I took No.102 Bus from Waitan Park in Tangguu to Tianjin (New) Port. (about 20 minutes 1.5 RMB)
- I was at a loss because・・・
- I didn’t know how to get to the Tianjin Port.
- I was wondering whether I should stay in Tianjin area or Tanggu area.
- I didn’t know where to stay.
- I didn’t know how Tanggu area was like. (Whether there is place to stay.)
After I went back to Japan, I gathered some information about access to Tianjin Port.
I thought “I should have done like this.” I found some good information,
So, I’ll give you some.
・・・after Olympic I checked the timetable of train.
That was changed much!
That's why I changed the contents.
How to get to Tianjin Port
It was difficult to get to Tianjin port.
There were not any train to get directly from Beijing to Tanggu station that
was nearest from Tianjin port.
Beijing South station and Tianjin station were big changed.
Timetable was also changed.
Now There are some trains(4round trip per day) from Beijing South station to Tanggu station directly.
So I think this way is best way to go to Tianjin port.
※ Even if you have a ticket of the Ferry, you should check in at the Port
by 10:00 AM .
I recommend staying in Tianjin area or Tangguu area.

From Tanggu to Tianjin Port
※This information is on May 2008
From Tanguu Station No102 bus 1.5 RMB it takes about 25 to 40 minutes.
From Waitan Park No102 bus 1.5 RMB it takes about 20 to 30 minutes.
From Western market No108 bus to Waitan Park 1RMB it takes about 10 to 15 minutes, then change the bus to No 102.
By taxi it will cost about 20 to 30 RMB and take about 20 to 30 minutes.
(I just asked about this to the hotel staff, but I think that is fare price.)
In the morning there is a traffic jam because of rush hour.
You should go early.
In my case I left hotel at 7 o'clock, and arrived at the port at 8 o’clock.
Highway bus from Beijing to Tianjin
From Beijing to Tanggu there is highway bus.
I checked how to use it, but it is very difficult for traveler.
From Beijing long distance bus station “祥龍趙公口” to Tianjin(Tanguu) 50RMB
How to get to the Beijing long distance bus station "龍趙公口".
Beijing subway No5 get off at “LIUJIAYAO“station and take taxi.
